Blast furnaces were equiped with hot probes (manufactured by Stend enterprise), which were connects with LAN of controllers for retrieving and processing of the data.

As an interface between hardware and workstations, the OPC server was used which performs gathering of data from controllers. As a GUI front-end, SCADA visualization system InVision 2007 was used (also with integration into Symatic WinCC management system).

For persistent data storage, database server MySQL 4 was used, but some time after it has been replaced by much more effective integrated RTDB.

Currently the system installed on:

• OJSC "Azovsteel", Mariupol
• OJSC "Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol"
• OJSC "Iron and Steel Works of Makeevka"

• Real-time 2D and 3D plotting of trends and thermo fields.
• 3D visualization of thermo field (slice of blast furnace).
• Retrieving archived data, static and dynamic visualization.
• Informing about broken thermopair and data transfer errors.

Currently automation works are only available in Ukraine.
